I show you how i built a large storage cabinet with doors for my garage. Make them the same as the base see previous section and image 5 above but swap out the 2x2 s for 1x2 s. Standard base cabinets measure 34 1 2 high for a 36 high work surface with a 1 1 2 countertop. Instead of installing upper cabinets you could simply run a long shelf across the tops of the upright cabinets.

The 1x2 in the front should form a lip to prevent things from sliding off easily. Measure how tall you need the bottom shelf and mark for reference.
