It s more of a it s an indoor carpet. Sure i d get my security deposit back but i d have to live with a disgusting 8 x 10 cover up in the meantime. So i don t really care about flooring anything underneath the carpet. A rug over carpet.

On the face of it installing new carpet over the old carpet does have some advantages. I m installing laminate over a kitchen floor with vinyl flooring extending to living room that was carpeted. And if the existing carpet was glued down not tacked it can be a huge time saver to lay the new carpet over the old.
